***CORONAVIRUS UPDATE March 24th 2020 ***

Guidance from the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) and the BVA (British Veterinary Association) advises that, under the current restrictions in place due to the Covid-19/Coronavirus pandemic, veterinary surgeons are able to continue to provide URGENT care for their patients.
Lomond Hills Veterinary Clinic will continue to be available for telephone triage and examination/treatment of urgent cases. We will offer the following options after triage:

* General advice, mainly whether the problem constitutes an emergency or not.

* Emergency appointment. The criteria for true emergencies will be tightened to safeguard everyone's safety.
Emergency cases will be examined at the clinic under the same biosecurity measures that we have had in place for the last week,  i.e. strictly no entry into the premises unless there is no practical alternative, strict adherence to social distancing, and prepayment by telephone only.

* Arrangement for a full 15 minute telephone consultation with the option of photo/video analysis via email. This will be chargeable at our normal rate unless outwith our normal hours, and will be prepayable by telephone.
Medication will be dispensed and can be picked up in a non-contact manner after payment by telephone.

* Arrangement of a 15 minute video consultation.
This may not be advantageous over a telephone consultation but is something we are currently setting up. As for telephone consultations, this will be charged for and paid via telephone (or possibly an alternative portal - under investigation) before the consultation.
Again, medication will be dispensed, charged for, and paid for as above.

We are already operating on a skeleton staff to reduce risk to our amazing team.

We have been dropping off medications to our clients with no means of collecting them.
As long as it is possible, we will endeavour to keep doing this.
However, as we will be operating in such small numbers, we do ask that this service is reserved for those in need.
We can't deliver routine flea/worming treatment unless there is a recognised therapeutic need.
The service is only available for emergency supplies of ESSENTIAL medications.

*** Long-term cases may be dispensed enough medications for a further month as long as the vet handling the case feels this is appropriate. A repeat prescription telephone consultation may be advised.

*** Requests for repeat prescriptions will take 7 days to process. Some medications are proving difficult to source. We are not receiving deliveries daily anymore. Repeat Prescription Form Online

*** Requests for written prescriptions will have a minimum 5 day processing period. Some medications are proving difficult to source.

At the time of writing, emergencies between 7pm and 8.30am Monday-Saturday and 5pm on Saturday until 8.30am on Mondays will be triaged and handled as usual by Vets Now Kirkcaldy.
We will remain closed on Saturdays and will only see emergencies until further notice.

All protocols are under daily review.

Please remember that these are incredibly unusual times, stress levels are high, and lives are at risk.
We are doing all we can but the safety of our staff is paramount.
We want to be able to welcome the whole team back when this is over.
